It’s important for us to realize the true source of this call to “defund the police.”

I was one of 31 Oklahoma legislators to speak out in defense of those who defend us: our Oklahoma law enforcement officers.

All of us wanted to send a strong message: In Oklahoma, we will never bend a knee to a mob nor will we ever comply with demands to defund those who protect the rule of law and the citizens of Oklahoma.

This statement originated with concerned members of the House of Representatives’ Public Safety Committee who did not like the hostile environment being created by the radical left and their attempt to defund the police. An anti-police, pro-anarchy narrative was being repeated in the news cycle and with the help of many in the media it has been gaining traction-even right here in Oklahoma where the members of the Norman City Council have already voted to substantially defund their police department.

In just a matter of days, the members of the Public Safety Committee were joined by other legislators in both the House and Senate who wanted to send the same strong message.

It’s important for us to realize the true source of this call to “defund the police.”

Perhaps the rank and file looters and rioters think their cause is original, novel and a righteous one; but, they are just “useful idiots,” ignorant and serving a criminal element that is linked in philosophy and statement to Marxism.

Today’s Marxists revolutionaries, whilst camouflaging themselves in the cloak of social justice, use terms like privilege, intersectionality, and racist, to collectively condemn and vilify law enforcement, our western civilization, our Constitutional republic and our nation of laws.

In 1958, a man who spent 16 years with the FBI by the name of Cleon Skousen published a book called The Naked Communist. He wrote that we are in a battle between two species of ignorance: the first is the ignorance of our Constitutional form of government and its requirements to perpetuate freedom; and, the second is the ignorance of history, philosophy, agenda of world communism and Marxism.

Skousen poignantly walks the reader through the communists’ 45 goals for America. I have posted this list at hd8.org/45goals and I strongly encourage you to read them; it’s an eye opening experience.

The 38th goal declares that the revolutionaries will seek to: “Transfer the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies.”

The weak politicians of this ignorance in Norman have already started to do just this. In defunding their police they are putting on a shameful display of political weakness and negligence. This must stop, and stop now!

We should never defund our police!

We should always support and defend law and order and our Constitutional republic.

Do know that there are a number of us in the Legislature who are committed to doing exactly that. In the upcoming weeks and months I look forward to continuing to communicate about this work.
