Now is the time for Oklahomas Congressional Delegation to Get Us Out of the UN
What we actually received since that time has been a plethora of UN agencies, treaties, global mandates and an ever enlarging headquarters (located in New York City) for a tyrannical one world government. Just some of what has been created as a result are UN “peacekeeping” operations, NATO, the IMF (International Monetary Fund) the World Bank, UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) the WHO (World Health Organization), Agenda 21, Agenda 30, the Paris Climate Accord, etc.
Today, anyone that is a minimal observer of these events and organizations is well aware of the fact that the UN and its efforts are not a friend of the United States. I believe we are at a unique time since its founding to withdraw from the UN and insist that the headquarters of the UN be moved to some other place in the world.
Just one of the many reasons to get out of the UN is financial. In a day in which we are faced with a national debt of $37 trillion and growing, we need to look for any and every place to cut expenditures. The U.S. government contributed almost $13 billion to the United Nations in fiscal year 2023 (FY 2023), the most recent year for which complete data is available. But, what we contribute to the UN is minuscule compared to the billions we spend on activities associated with the UN. Just look at the enormous costs we have encountered through the bogus climate change mandates. Or look at the costs both in money and lives as a result of the Korean and Vietnam wars, and so many others UN exploitations that have been partly responsible for our enormous national debt.
By far the John Birch Society was the earliest organization to recognize the dangers of the UN. This anti-communist pro Americanist organization has for years worked to awaken American citizens to the dangers resulting from the formation of the UN. Over the years it has provided expert speakers, published books and pamphlets as well as having an excellent web-site (JBS.ORG) to educate Americans about the evils of the UN and what we need to do to get us out of the UN. Perhaps the greatest book ever written on the UN is: The United Nations Exposed by William F. Jasper (345 pages written in 2001). I have known Bill for many years, and even interviewed him about his book on the talk radio show (KREF 1400 AM out of Norman) that I hosted back in 2001.
I believe the environment is ripe to get us out. During the Oklahoma Republican State Convention earlier this year, I was manning the John Birch Society booth with the main purpose of informing the convention delegates about the evils of the UN. I did not encounter a single individual that was deceived into thinking the UN was a good organization. Right now we have the best opportunity in my lifetime to get us out of the UN and the UN out of the USA.
There is currently legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives H.R. 1498 by Representative Chip Roy (Republican of Texas), and S. 669 in the U.S. Senate by Senator Mike Lee (Republican of Utah), to get us out of the UN. Congress has the power to do this, but it all depends upon we the citizens to communicate with our Congressional delegation.
I have the cell phone numbers for Oklahoma District 2 U.S. Representative Josh Brecheen, as well as Senators James Lankford and Markwayne Mullin. Through text messages, I have asked the three of them to co-sponsor the pieces of legislation in their respective chambers. Representative Brecheen responded to my text letting me know he is already a co-sponsor of H.R. 1498. Lankford responded that he would look into co-sponsoring S. 669 and assured me he believes there are many problems with the UN. Senator Mullin has not responded as of yet. I will be contacting the rest of our delegation seeking their response.
To make it easy for our readers, here is the Washington D.C. office contact information for all seven members of our congressional delegation. Senator James Lankford (202) 224-5754, Senator Markwayne Mullin (202) 224-4721, District 1 Representative Kevin Hern (202) 225-2211, District 2 Representative Josh Brecheen (202) 225-2701 (call and thank him for cosponsoring H.R. 1498), District 3 Representative Frank Lucas (202) 225-5565, District 4 Representative Tom Cole (202) 225-6165, and District 5 Representative Stephanie Bice (202) 225-2132.
A couple of final thoughts, don’t let anyone tell you we need the UN so we can communicate with the other nations in the world. We have American ambassadors in every country that we want to communicate with. This is our best opportunity to fully restore our National Sovereignty, it is now up to us to act. While voting is important, this is a far more important action than just voting.
